for growth. Uintah Care Center was first built as a 52 bed nursing center in 1983 and then
acquired by Uintah County in 1987. The Adult Day Center was added on in 1993. In
2000 the County created the Uintah Health Care Special Service District and
appointed a Controlling Board of volunteer community members. In 2002 the
Nursing Center was expanded by 58 beds and the 1983 construction was
refurbished. The Nursing Center now includes 110 beds. The Administrator, Wayne Dunbar, has over 17 years experience with managing
Care Centers. The Director of Nursing, Terri Timer, has been with the Care Center for over
14 years and is a registered nurse. Skilled, Sub-Acute and Extended Care - The Medicare/Medicaid certified
110-bed nursing facility serves individuals of all ages who need care. Short-Term Rehabilitation - provides professional, licensed speech,
occupational and physical therapy. Physical Therapy Aides help clients to
improve or maintain strength and mobility. More intensive services such as
tracheotomy and ostomy care are available. Our rehabilitation team works
diligently with the client to achieve functional independence, and a return to
home or a less medical setting. We are proud that this is occurring with at
least 8 out of 10 or our rehabilitation clients. Extended Care - Our clients who stay for longer periods receive
continued restorative services to promote their functional independence and
holistic services to address their physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs.
Palliative Care - We offer palliative care to terminally ill clients
and their families. Effective pain management and symptom control, counseling
and supportive services for the client and family are key, as well as assuring
that the client and family feel in control. Special Services - Chaplain Services, Music Therapy, Pet Therapy, and
inter-generational experiences are available. Focused Needs Unit - Offers care, services, activities in a beautiful,
safe environment designed to address the medical and psycho-social needs of
persons with memory loss. Respite Care - is provided in the care center and in our adult day
